2017 Touchstone Energy Brand Champions Announced

Published On: May 10, 2017

On May 3 Mary McLaury, COO of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, (center) honored Mary Ann Bell of Coweta-Fayette EMC, GA (right) and Sha Phillips of East Kentucky Power Cooperative, KY (left) with the 2017 Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Brand Champion award.

During the Touchstone Energy general session at CONNECT’17, Mary McLaury stated, “These two committed women not only embody Touchstone Energy’s core values of innovation, integrity, accountability and commitment to community, they also make exceptional contributions to building the brand on a local, regional and national level. We are lucky to work with them.”

Senior Vice President of Public Relations & Communications Mary Ann Bell has been a tireless advocate and brand ambassador for Touchstone Energy both at her co-op and regionally. With more than 40 years of service to her members, Mary Ann has been a voice for Touchstone Energy in Georgia since her co-op joined in 1999. She immediately saw the value of Touchstone Energy, taking ownership and helping grow the program throughout the state with her solid relationships and interpersonal skills.

“Mary Ann has always made a point to make sure every employee at her co-op is well-versed in what Touchstone Energy is doing,” Kaleb Frady, marketing specialist of Georgia EMC remarked. “She also helped spread the word across the state to both member and non-member co-ops. This behind-the-scenes leadership and relationship-building proves her commitment to the brand.”

Marketing and Brand Supervisor Sha Phillips works tirelessly to support and build the Touchstone Energy brand. In addition to promoting Touchstone Energy programs across Kentucky, Sha serves as the Regional Member on the national Touchstone Energy Board, which represents the 16 owner-members of East Kentucky Power Cooperative. She has long served as an active member for several national Touchstone committees. In addition, Sha completed training to become a Road to Member Engagement facilitator and presents the workshop along with the Service Excellence program to East Kentucky Power Cooperative’s distribution co-ops.

“We are proud of all Sha has done to promote Touchstone Energy programs with our employees, member-owners and co-ops,” Member Services Manager of East Kentucky Power Cooperative Joe Settles told us.

Congratulation Mary Ann and Sha! You both are definitely our Brand Champions!
