2018 NET Conference: Where co-ops and businesses meet

Published On: February 13, 2018

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Touchstone Energy’s signature B2B conference was held at the historic Vinoy Renaissance Resort with 440 energy professionals from 40 states, breaking attendance records. NET 2018 continued the rich tradition of connecting electric co-ops with over 55 national businesses, including Walmart, Microsoft, Costco, McDonalds, Petco, Staples and many more.

Topics on economic development, technology and innovation powered the 4 general sessions and 12 breakout tracks. Nearly 40 speakers from co-ops, national businesses and sponsoring companies shared their expertise on big data, battery storage, broadband, engaging small businesses, distributed generation and more.  The full program can be seen here, including our headliners, Josh Linkner, tech entrepreneur, Christopher Guith, SVP of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Steve Collier from Milsoft Utility Solutions.

NET 2018 also held an electric vehicle showcase with TESLA’s Model S and X, a Nissan prototype and the new Toyota Prius Prime.

NETworking is at the heart of the NET Conference and strengthens the relationships with our national key accounts.

“If it was completely up to me, we would never put another datacenter in an IOU. Not only are cooperatives free from the obligation to serve external shareholders, but cooperatives have the ability to be more flexible in their rate structure.”  Ken Davies, Director, Renewable Energy at Microsoft told us.

Planning for NET 2019 is underway and dates and location will be announced soon.
