Co-ops take advantage of the Energy Solutions Kick-Start Course

Published On: October 06, 2016

When Vice President of Edgecombe-Martin County EMC (EMEMC) of NC Eddie Stocks heard about the new “Energy Solutions Kick-Start” course, he was intrigued.

He attended the introductory webinar to learn more, and then decided to take the course himself to see if it would be a fit for his co-op. He was pleasantly surprised to find out it was exactly what EMEMC needed.

“This course hit all the main topic areas that our employees who have face-to-face interaction with member-owners encounter on a daily basis. It is very informative for those who have to address bill complaints and provides great advice about how we can better listen and respond to member-owner concerns,” Eddie told us. “I’d recommend that anyone who manages customer-service personnel should take this training and evaluate if it will be a good fit for their co-op.”

That’s exactly what Corey ten Bensel, director of member care of Co-Mo Electric Cooperative, Inc. of MO, did. He told us “I thought the course was great. It is very appropriate and useful for our employees.” He is working to implement the course at his co-op this fall.
