In January, we announced the humble and dedicated community members who won the Who Powers You Contest. We have had the opportunity to meet with some of these unsung heroes to capture their stories, and we are happy to share their positive energy across our network.
Meet the Southwells. They’ve been working in their Hondo, Texas community for over a decade to help abused and neglected kids. They eventually started Helping Abused and Neglected Kids (HANK), an organization that helps place these kids in foster homes. They’ve even built numerous foster homes themselves to help shelter and protect the needy children in their town.
Meet the Morris Family. They’ve spent years powering their Whitesville, Kentucky community by building wheelchair-accessible homes for families in need through the Angels for Ashley foundation. They’ve also raised at least $200,000 for other causes that support local families, Trinity High School, a Haiti mission and St Jude’s.
We will continue to share these powerful stories with you as their stories unfold. So be on the lookout for future Brand News posts.
Know someone in your community that’s making a difference? The Who Powers You contest will be back this fall. Details will be sent in July, but save the date for the August 7 webinar so you can get all the information you need to promote the contest with your members.
