On July 31, Touchstone Energy and NRECA hosted a joint webinar that took a deeper dive into the not too mysterious minds of members who are considered young adults (aka ages 25-45). This recorded event broke NRECA 2019 webinar records with 400+ registrants eager to learn how to make the business case for engagement and then plan their communications strategy accordingly.
“This project comes with a robust YAME resource hub on cooperative.com that provides you with grab and go messages, assets and plans,” said Anne Harvey, a presenter representing Touchstone Energy. “There is everything from welcome emails to social media posts based on research and direct feedback from YAMEs whose values closely match what is important to their co-op.
“I’m a huge fan of the idea starters that have content boosts linking to our exclusive member resources. One of my favorites is hosting a ‘yappy hour’ on the co-op grounds or at a local park so members can learn ways to keep their animals cool and their electric bills low during the dog days of summer. This age group has a strong tie to their fur babies, so why not tap into that love of four-legged family members and take energy efficiency in a new direction?”
Touchstone Energy and NRECA staff are out and about across the country sharing ideas at various co-op meetings and conferences (including upcoming regional meetings). Be sure you provide feedback on your thoughts about YAME, and check the Brand News for details about next quarter’s webinar.
